WHAT WE DO
I offer nine standard styles of boxes, carriers and trays in twelve sizes. Natural wood finishes in cherry, walnut and maple. Painted finishes are offered in traditional Early American colors. See the Gallery where each style is pictured and the Price List for available sizes. For available colors click on "Color Palette" in upper right corner of site's home page. Larger sizes are available by special order.
I handcraft each piece using the same methods as those used by Shaker craftsmen 200 years ago. I try and adapt my work to better coincide with today's more contemporary lifestyle , while still retaining the quality, charm and simplicity of the original Shaker pieces.
I have three major priorities which, to me, are essential.
* Adherrence to traditional Shaker style
* Quality Craftsmanship
* Outstanding customer service
I also offer a selection of contrasting and decorative woods to please the more contemporary tastes.
If you have an item in mind that you don't see listed, please contact me. I am flexible and will do my best to accommodate each and every customer in whatever request you may have as far as materials used, finishes, etc.
The "Price List" shows all the items I make. These can be ordered for delivery within 2-3 weeks, depending on the item(s). I also try and maintain a reasonable inventory which is available immediately.
Words from Mother Ann Lee, founder of the Shaker movement, are the driving force behind my insistence on quality. She said,
“Your work will be standing long after you die. Leave a good mark”.
It is my hope that my work will become a treasured heirloom in your home for many years to come. Or, perhaps will be given as a special gift in honor of a very special occasion. And that it may be handed down from one generation to the next and continue the tradition.
The Shakers and the boxes they made are a part of American History. It is my hope that I can play a small part in helping keep the memory and tradition alive.
